Children in Tawa have been learning the language of
probability by considering events which are likely or unlikely to happen. Some
of the words explored were: always, sometimes, never, will, might, won’t, yes,
maybe, no, certain, possible and impossible. Children predicted the chance of
something happening along with a statement that justified their prediction. A
lot of fun but more importantly a deeper understanding of ‘What’s the chance….’
of something happening was achieved through working in groups and in pairs. These
are just some of the fantastic posters that were made.
