Strike Performance

We were so privileged to have Strike perform for us today. Their expertise was outstanding and skills we discovered that you can do with percussion instruments were incredible. Can you remember the names of the instruments? What things could you use at home to practice these drumming skills and create your own music? Have fun! Thanks for the inspiration Strike!

World War One good sorts

Mrs Inder kindly came into Kowhai class today to read us a beautiful story about WW1 called The Red Poppy. We found out that dogs are good sorts also by helping wounded soldiers in the war. We loved meeting Su, the Labrador dog who came to visit us. She was wearing her Red Cross cape.

Whats the chance.....

Children in Tawa have been learning the language of probability by considering events which are likely or unlikely to happen. Some of the words explored were: always, sometimes, never, will, might, won’t, yes, maybe, no, certain, possible and impossible. Children predicted the chance of something happening along with a statement that justified their prediction. A lot of fun but more importantly a deeper understanding of ‘What’s the chance….’ of something happening was achieved through working in groups and in pairs. These are just some of the fantastic posters that were made.
